What does OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 mean?

The OEKO-TES STANDARD 100 is a globally recognized certification system for textiles. It was developed to provide consumers with guidance in selecting textile products that have been tested for harmful substances and are therefore considered safe for human health.
The standard includes extensive criteria relating to various aspects of textile production, including the use of chemicals, compliance with limits for harmful substances, verification of colour fastness and general production conditions.
To receive the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificate, textile products must pass a series of rigorous tests carried out by independent testing institutes. These tests include analysis for a wide range of harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, formaldehyde and other chemical substances that can potentially be hazardous to health.
The certificate is renewed annually and the production facilities are subject to regular monitoring to ensure that the high standards are maintained.
