Mutter mit schwarzem Kinderwagen im Sommer

Black stroller in summer?

Summer is coming! It will be hot again.

Won't it be too hot for your little darling in a black stroller? The answer will surprise many: there's nothing wrong with a black stroller, quite the opposite.

On the one hand, dark or black fabrics protect against the sun's dangerous UV rays. The dark color absorbs the radiation, but reflects the infrared part and thus protects your baby better.
On the other hand, heat that is released by the body can be transported away more easily through dark fabrics. Dark colors are particularly advantageous when there is a light breeze, because the heat can be released even faster.

Light-colored fabrics, on the other hand, reflect the body's heat inwards, which causes the interior of your stroller to heat up more quickly.

So is it a misconception that black cars heat up more than light ones?

No, not at all. However, this only applies to locked cars without air circulation.
Here, the advantage of dark colors, the ability to dissipate heat more quickly, cannot be taken into account and it actually gets hot more quickly.
Unlike in a locked car, there is almost always air circulation in a stroller, which means that dark colors can release heat better and, above all, faster than light colors.

But whatever color you choose: NEVER LEAVE THE STROLLER IN THE BLAZING SUN!
